2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a verification process that helps us ensure only an authorised person is accessing your 1form account.
We are introducing this feature as an additional way to prevent unauthorised access to your account and to further protect the private information tenants share with 1form and your agency.
When 2FA is enabled, property managers must enter a unique code sent via SMS only when they access 1form from a new device or browser, or if cookies are deleted or disabled.
The next time you sign in as a property manager, you will be asked to provide a mobile phone number before you can continue to access 1form. This is the mobile number we will use to send the 2FA unique code to once this feature is enabled in September.
Note: 2FA is recommended by Stay Smart Online, an Australian Government initiative that is part of the Australian Cyber Security Centre. You can learn more about 2FA here.
Can I change the phone number I have provided?
When we go live with 1form 2FA, you will be able to change the mobile phone number attached to your 1form login by contacting the 1form team.
My office shares the same login to access 1form, what mobile phone number do we provide?
In the interest of protecting privacy, we strongly recommend that each 1form user in your office signs in with a unique email address. Multiple users on the same login significantly increases the risk of your account being compromised.
By having individual logins, each user will be able to provide their own number. In the meantime, please add the mobile phone number that is most accessible to the people who work at your agency.
Once 2FA is enabled, it will be more difficult to have multiple people using 1form with the same login. To minimise the impact to your agency, follow the steps below:
- All users who access 1form in your agency who do not have a property manager login should complete the Property Manager Sign up form.
- Submit a request here to the 1form team to add these new accounts to your agency’s platform. If you want each individual login to be able to view the same applications, let the team know so they can group these emails together.
What happens if I do not have a work mobile number?
We ask for a work mobile phone number to ensure you have immediate access to the 2FA SMS when you are using 1form. If you do not have a work mobile number, your personal mobile is also acceptable.
Do I have to enter an Australian mobile phone number in?
We have the capability to send SMS codes to numbers outside of Australia. Please ensure you include the correct country code for your international phone number. As per the above, we strongly recommend that each 1form user in your office signs in with a unique email address.
