2-factor authentication is a verification process that helps us ensure that only those who are authorised are accessing your 1form account, even if someone else knows your password.
We’re introducing this extra layer of security to prevent unauthorised access to your account and to further protect the private information that tenants share with 1form and your agency.
Please ensure that you are using the most up to date browser when accessing 1form to avoid any issues with the 2-factor authentication process.
How it works
When 2-factor authentication is enabled, you will need to enter a unique code sent via SMS to your nominated mobile phone number. You won’t need to complete this process for another 30 days unless you access 1form from a new device or browser, or if cookies are deleted or disabled.
For example, if you log in to 1form from a new computer for the first time, you’ll be asked to enter a unique code. This code will be sent via SMS to the mobile number that is associated with the 1form account. This is why it will be important to have your own login details and not share with anyone else. If the mobile number isn’t your number, you won’t receive the code and won’t be able to log in.
What changes should I be looking out for?
The next time you sign in to 1form as a property manager, you’ll be asked to provide a mobile phone number before you can continue to access 1form.
You will only have to do this once per account.
Note: 2-factor authentication is recommended by Stay Smart Online, an Australian Government initiative that is part of the Australian Cyber Security Centre. You can learn more about 2-factor authentication here.
What's the benefit for my agency?
Agencies who share logins are at increased risk of security issues, and 2-factor authentication helps to protect you against those issues.
The 1form team can enable property managers with their own login credentials to all be able to view all your applications, meaning you can continue to manage your business just as efficiently as before.
